Automation

Library Automation is primarily the replacement of the traditional Card Catalog with an electronic version.  Planning for library automation should not be taken lightly, and may be one of the biggest projects a librarian will ever undertake.

In order to better understand the complexities of library automation, we have several books in our Library Science Collection that provide information on the process of Library Automation.  The visual listing  may be found at our website by accessing the NETLS electronic catalog using a "Visual Search" labeled "Automation".  Click on Automation to complete this search.

What are the basic steps to library automation?  Click on Steps for Library Automation to find out.
