Refreshments at NETLS functions (other than meals) are provided through the generosity of the host library or paid for from the refreshment fund. Most workshops provide attendees coffee, tea, and bottled water; light snacks are sometimes offered at all day or long sessions. System operating grant funds may not be used for food items. The refreshment fund, established in 1994, pays for refreshments and service goods for system meetings and most workshops, as well as the awards which are given to our members each year at the Annual Awards Luncheon.
Last year, there were donations of $593 by 18 member libraries, boards, and individuals to our existing balance of $679, for a total of $1,272. However, expenses for refreshments at events like workshops and meetings, and the cost of the awards presented at the Annual Awards Luncheon were $1,427. The fund shortage was covered by generous support from our vendors.
Please consider a donation to the NETLS Refreshment Fund - without your support we will not be able to continue to provide these items. Any donation is welcome, whether it’s $20 or $1,000.
Remember:
- System grant funds cannot be used for refreshments;
- This is a voluntary donation or pledge;
- The units in each library (Director, Board, or Friends) decide who will make a donation;
- The funds will be received, disbursed, and reported on by the System Coordinator and tracked through the
City of Garland accounting system;
- Checks should be made payable to “City of Garland”.
Thank you for your support.
